As Trump Family Sues to Block Subpoenas, Democrats Ponder Impeachment

Proving himself every day to be the despot we always knew him to be, American despot Donald Trump, illegitimate occupant of our White House, refuses oversight by our Constitution and pushes the USA further into the maw of his authoritarian tyranny. He has assumed the mantle of mad king, demanding fealty of everyone to only himself, disregarding the country and citizenship. He and his Reich battle for the Divine Right of Kings in utter abandonment of everything our Constitution defined as the United States of America.

We sit shivering in the frigid waters of complacency and fear, failing to find balance between political fear and the obvious demands of justice. Leaders Adam Schiff, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and others are stuck languishing in fear of political retribution by the presumed worst of our country’s complacent, compliant voters who they fear are going to ignore justice and return our despot to his gestating dictatorship in 2020.

They are clinging to standard old political theories that were crushed in both 2016, our horrific and unbalanced racist and Russian-manipulated election, and 2018, our citizens-rise-up-and-fight-back election that flooded the polls and sent themselves into their current positions of power.

One can understand the notions that the extreme opposite polarities of 2016 and 2018 cancel each other out, leaving politicos to only ponder their next move based on the tired and archaic old political thinking of pre-2016.

What the Democrats are missing, though, is that there is a very clear through-line to both elections that destroys all previous political strategy: WE NOW DEMAND STRONG ACTION FROM OUR LEADERS:

2016 was a demand for action based on the worst human emotions of hate, anger, bigotry, greed, and fear.

2018 was the overwhelming demand for repudiation of those putrid emotions and toward justice, equality, diversity, and integrity.

WE CLEARLY DEMANDED JUSTICE AND INTEGRITY IN 2018, yet the Democratic leadership is right now faltering because that message is already stale in their minds.
